Good Friday events

Good Friday Events in Point Place

The churches in Point Place, including CrossPoint, are joining together for two Good Friday Events.

The first event is our Cross Walk. This begins at 11:00 am at the Lighthouse on Summit Street. Parking is available along Summit and at Cullen Park. We start at the Lighthouse, and then walk with the cross to Messiah Lutheran Church, Point Place United Church of Christ, and then on to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where the walk ends. There will be short reflections at each stop. There is parking available at each stop if you would like to use your vehicle. Join us for this contemplative time.

The other joint event is our Community Good Friday Service that begins at 7:00 pm and is held at RiverPoint Ministries United Methodist Church on 131st Street. This is always a deeply moving and participatory service, and it is led by Pastor Mike, Pastor Jon, and Pastor Amy. The service is one hour long.

Advent at CrossPoint

Advent begins on Sunday, December 1. Advent is a time of expectation, remembering, preparation, and looking ahead.

We mark the passing of each of the four weeks of Advent by lighting a candle with a specific meaning every Sunday. They are the candles of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.

These themes help us re-live the emotions and feelings of the people of Israel as they longed for deliverance from oppression and darkness.

Join us each Sunday of Advent as we anticipate the arrival of Jesus as a child, and his arrival in the future when he comes again!
