Just a thought, but I’m not sure that the Father forsook Jesus on the cross. I think that in Jesus’s humanity, he felt forsaken, experiencing what we experience when sin blinds us to the Father’s presence. If God promises us that He will never leave us or forsake us, why would He desert his son? Some have said “God can’t dwell where sin is.” Seriously? I am sure I sin somehow every day and I know He is still with me. I’d love any other scripture texts on this one…
